(Senior) DevOps Engineer (w/m/x)

Job description

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (f/m/x) for our client, a leading software company in the education sector. In this role, you will be part of the platform team and actively shape the further development of the internal developer platform - with the goal of reducing the cognitive load on product teams so they can develop and operate their services quickly, securely, and independently.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and evolving the internal developer platform (Kubernetes-based private cloud) across the entire software lifecycle

  • Co-developing the Dev Center (Golden Path): documentation and best practices together with the product teams

  • Supporting and enabling product teams in developing their services

  • Automating CI/CD pipelines with a GitOps mindset (GitLab, FluxCD, Ansible, Bash)

  • Scouting, evaluating, and piloting new technologies to modernize infrastructure

  • Operating and stabilizing a web application including MariaDB Galera Cluster, disaster recovery & observability (ELK Stack)

Job requirements

  • Solid experience as a Kubernetes Cluster Administrator

  • Strong knowledge in Linux system administration

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as FluxCD, ArgoCD, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins

  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages for automation

  • Basic understanding of agile processes and development methodologies

  • Fluent English and at least B1-level German skills (with the desire to improve)

This is a position (38.5 hours/week – NO all-in contract) with a minimum salary of EUR 70,000 gross/year. The actual salary depends on experience and qualifications.
